Historic 15th Century Ackergill Tower is a luxurious self catering property said to be haunted by “The Green Lady”.
Borthwick Castle – Gorebridge
Borthwick Castle hotel is said to be haunted by the ghosts of a young servant girl and an ex-chancellor.
Comlongon Castle – Dumfries
The picturesque Comlongon Castle Hotel, dating back to the 1300s is reputed to be haunted by the Green Lady, thought to be the ghost of Marion Carruthers.
Shieldhill Castle Hotel – Biggar
The beautiful 12th Century Shield Hill Castle is a 4 star, luxury hotel, and comes with its very own ghost – The Grey Lady.
Ardentinny Inn – Ardentinny
One particular room is said to be haunted by children – guests have woken in the night and believed that children have entered their room by mistake, only for them to vanish.
Highland Hotel – Loch Etive
Two women sharing a room reported a ghost that appeared and tried to strangle them.
Dryburgh Abbey Hotel (particularly room 216) – St Boswells
A clergyman, dressed in black clothing, this was seen several times during the early nineteenth century. He was killed after it was discovered that he and the Lady of the Manor were having an affair, and it is reported that she took her own life after discovering the preacher’s death. She now takes the form of a grey lady seen in the hotel. A plainchant has been reported from the former abbey.
